Our mission is to connect organizations and skilled individuals who offer pro bono services with nonprofits who need them.
Our vision is to redefine how volunteers and organizations are matched with pro bono opportunities. Through our web services, we will align professional skill and philanthropic interest with the specific needs of local nonprofits to create a mutually beneficial experience.
It is our goal to foster meaningful volunteer opportunities that strengthen nonprofits while encouraging professional development and community involvement.
Austin Pro Bono was originally launched in 2007 by a group of passionate Austinites who saw a need for skills based volunteerism in our community. The inaugural group of sponsors and doers include Sentient Services, Austin AdFed, GSD&M, EnviroMedia, and Terminal B. This eclectic group of agencies, IT consultants and do-gooders worked tirelessly between day jobs to make Austin Pro Bono a reality. Since that initial launch, we have connected with nearly a hundred volunteers and local businesses and hundreds of nonprofits in the Austin area registered to list their needs for pro bono professional services.
In early 2011, through the enthusiastic support and volunteers of our flagship sponsor BuildASign.com, Austin Pro Bono officially became a registered 501(c)(3). Around the same time, we rebuilt our website to offer robust custom developed online matching technology to better serve our volunteers and nonprofits.
With a new site and revamped technology, Austin Pro Bono remains dedicated to our mission and serving the Austin community through connecting skilled volunteers with nonprofits in need of pro bono services. Register your organization, or sign up to be a volunteer, and begin the process of further developing the Austin nonprofit community.
As our goal is to serve you, the community, we are always looking for new ideas and suggestions on how we can improve our site and our service. Have an idea? Let us know!
