The Missy Project sponsors an Early Detection Screening Program that offers free MRI's (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for those with family history of Brain Aneruysm Disease (B.A.D.). We also provide education and outreach. Working with the Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin, TX we have established the first Early Detection Screening Program available in the nation.

Coming of Age Austin Metro

In 2010, Travis County RSVP significantly broadened its scope of service and re-invented itself as Coming of Age Austin Metro. The change was implemented in response to Baby Boomers’ vision and approach toward living a fulfilling, rewarding, and engaged life beyond full-time employment. Coming of Age has helped people 50+ explore their future; connect and contribute through opportunities both paid and unpaid, as well as provide training to nonprofits about how to build their capacity to capture the energy and expertise of people 50+. Today, Coming of Age has two major focuses: • Help people 50+ explore their futures, become community leaders, pursue lifelong learning, and engage in meaningful volunteer service • Help nonprofits more effectively market volunteer opportunities to recruit and retain skilled, passionate, resourceful volunteers age 50+

Austin Creative Reuse

Austin Creative Reuse is a budding organization and it needs your help. ACR seeks to provide the citizens of Austin a resource to help reduce waste while engaging their creativity. Through our educational programs, community outreach and retail store, Austin Creative Reuse is a playground for experimentation in finding new ways to use items normally destined for the landfill. Dick Beardsley Foundation

We are trying to give people hope that can become sober and get your life back. We are trying to communicate with the world that you can talk about chemical addiction and that it is a disease, just like cancer or heart disease. We are trying to education the public about chemically dependency.

The Dick Beardsley Foundation will educate the public (including the youth in schools and clubs) on the disease of chemical dependency, the warning signs of chemical dependency, the dangers of chemical dependency, and how chemical dependency can be treated; to promote living a healthy, active lifestyle, chemically free; and to promote greater openness about chemical dependency.

Bike Austin

Approximately 21% of the Williamson and Travis County population is uninsured as evidenced by local hospitals experiencing a continuing increase in emergency room visits for non-life threatening medical care. SHCC will provide a family medical home for many of these people living in Round Rock. Everyone who qualifies to come to SHCC has access to integrated services that address a person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Access to these services is the key to fostering long-term health for working-poor families, while providing numerous benefits for the community.

Hope Alliance is Williamson County's only domestic violence and sexual assault resource center and emergency shelter. We offer several services free of charge: 24 hour hotline; crisis intervention; individual and group counseling; case management; healthy parenting education; legal advocacy, housing assistance; hospital, law enforcement and court accompaniment; and an INR (Information and Referral) network for job placement, childcare and life-skills assistance.

Equine Rehabilitation Central Texas

The ERCT property is currently being cleared, fenced and run-in sheds are being built which will house the equines. This propety is just off of 1431 in Cedar Park. The board has met twice and one fundraising event has been held to introduce ERCT and bring together like-minded people. We need to complete the renovations on the property, develop a web site and implement additional fundraising strategies and financial systems. ERCT was formed in June and the 1023 application for federal tax exemption was received by the IRS on August 15, 2012. I have submitted a request to expedite the application so that ERCT can apply for grant funding through Greenlights and other foundations.

Growing Roots offers low-income parents of children with special needs a hands-on approach to learning about their child's needs, to understanding how to navigate different systems ( medical, social and educational) and provides them with a space to meet other parents and receive emotional support. We have created our own curriculum and teaching materials that account for differences in literacy levels as well as culture and native language. We offer classes throughout Austin using community space such as recreation centers and libraries to provide our programs. All of our programming is free of charge to parents and is offered in both Spanish and English.
