Project Details

Art From the Streets has a long history of working with leading Austin creatives from EnviroMedia, BuzzPR, Enfatico, GSD&M and Dell, who produced ADDY award-winning work for our Annual Show and the homeless artists that we serve. We're seeking internet and social media marketing professionals to continue that storied tradition by helping us promote our 21st Annual Show and Sale through an interactive and social media campaign that builds interest in the project and the show by increasing Art From the Streets’ presence and visibility on the internet. The Interactive Campaign team will coordinate closely with the Advertising and PR teams to carry out the branding strategy and post news and happenings in a timely fashion as they develop. Coordinate and attend Interactive team meetings as needed depending on timeline/schedules, and attend monthly meetings with the advertising and PR teams as necessary. The mission of Art From the Streets is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where the positive spirit of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression, and to provide them with a source of pride and income through the sale of their work. We carry out this mission by sponsoring twice weekly open studio art classes for people who are homeless or formerly homeless, and producing an annual show and sale of the resulting work where the artists keep the proceeds. In the past 20 years the show has produced art sales of more than $800,000 which has gone directly to the people who created the art. The money has rented apartments, purchased cars and vans, clothing, food, a room for the night. It has made a difference.
