INTERACTIVE PARTNER FOR ART FROM THE STREETS' 21ST ANNUAL SHOW AND SALE OF ART for Art From the Streets

( Website Design, Google Adwords Campagin, Online Marketing Plan, Website Development, Graphic Design, Copywriting )

Project Details

Art From the Streets has a long history of working with leading Austin creatives from EnviroMedia, BuzzPR, Enfatico, GSD&M and Dell, who produced ADDY award-winning work for our Annual Show and the homeless artists that we serve. We're seeking internet and social media marketing professionals to continue that storied tradition by helping us promote our 21st Annual Show and Sale through an interactive and social media campaign that builds interest in the project and the show by increasing Art From the Streets’ presence and visibility on the internet. The Interactive Campaign team will coordinate closely with the Advertising and PR teams to carry out the branding strategy and post news and happenings in a timely fashion as they develop. Coordinate and attend Interactive team meetings as needed depending on timeline/schedules, and attend monthly meetings with the advertising and PR teams as necessary. The mission of Art From the Streets is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where the positive spirit of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression, and to provide them with a source of pride and income through the sale of their work. We carry out this mission by sponsoring twice weekly open studio art classes for people who are homeless or formerly homeless, and producing an annual show and sale of the resulting work where the artists keep the proceeds. In the past 20 years the show has produced art sales of more than $800,000 which has gone directly to the people who created the art. The money has rented apartments, purchased cars and vans, clothing, food, a room for the night. It has made a difference.

LOOKING FOR A TALENTED PHOTOGRAPHER FOR OUR THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY EVENTS! for El Buen Samaritano

( Photography )

Project Details

Each Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Buen Samaritano gathers more than 100 volunteers from the community and uses more than 25 different partners to provide 1,400 families a food care package for the holidays. The event is called Hands for Hope Thanksgiving and it has become an Austin community tradition for 22 years. We know that hunger is a real concern for thousands of Austin-area families. The 2010 Census showed that almost 20 percent of Travis County residents live in poverty and struggle to secure basic needs. Hands for Hope helps extend a spirit of gratitude and service by bringing together individuals from all parts of Austin to help make a Thanksgiving celebration a reality for families who could otherwise not afford it. How many people benefit? Last year, thanks to the generous support from our partners, we provided 1,400 families with all the ingredients needed to prepare Thanksgiving meals. This year, and our goal is to provide Thanksgiving Care Packages to 1,400 families on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Around Christmas-time, we also provide a celebration to the families we serve by decorating our community building like the North Pole and providing toys and treats. Families participate in crafts, games, sing-a-longs and in the culminating event, a visit to receive toys from Santa Claus himself. This year, we need at least one photographer to cover both events in their entirety. As a photographer of the event, we can provide a link to your photography website on our site, facebook page and other social media streams. Depending on the amount of time donated, we can also include you as an in-kind contributor to the event and add you to our e-newsletter communications and posters.
